The proof is in the pudding: solar energy is the next step in solving the world’s energy issues. Already Portugal, Italy, Germany, and Chile have invested heavily in solar energy. For some regions though, the growth was too much, too soon.
The ability of solar energy to harness an essentially endless and free source of power is a major incentive for communities and governments looking to grow. So much so that in some situations, power companies simply bill their customers nothing. In more extreme cases, the energy generated from solar farms was in massive surplus. In fact, the government had no choice but to pay citizens for their surplus solar energy.
