The Kentucky Derby is an annually held racing event in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s become known in America as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports” or “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports” for its fleeting duration. It’s also referred to as “The Run for the Roses” for the incredibly lush blanket of roses draped over the winner. Maybe the roses are what attracted all those past Bachelorette contestants?? Who knows!
The love for the game comes from all corners of the world and athletes from all kinds of sports. David Ortiz and Tom Brady were sure not to miss the beloved tradition and everyone around him had fun snapping the infamous Super Bowl champion on their social media.
The infield, a spectator area inside the track, offers general admission prices but little chance of seeing much of the race. Instead, revelers show up in the infield to party with abandon. By contrast, “Millionaire’s Row” refers to the expensive box seats that attract the rich, the famous and the well-connected… which is likely where all these celebs were getting to hang out!
For the last 143 years the race has been held, women appear in fine outfits lavishly accessorized with large, elaborate hats, like the one you see Maren Morris and Katie Couric sporting in the gallery, below!
